CLAUDIA HOUSE
Overview
CLAUDIA HOUSE’s purpose is to improve and support the lives of the Youth in a multicultural environment by providing transitional housing, behavioral intervention, counseling (one on one and in group), access to educational opportunities (in school, out of school, online and tutoring), skills-training services and social activities.
In order to achieve its purpose, CLAUDIA HOUSE has just entered into a contract with the State of Oregon Youth Authority in order to provide Transitional Housing & Re-entry services to young adults 18 to 25 years.
CLAUDIA HOUSE’s specific objectives are to:
-
Provide safe short- and long-term placement/shelter for adolescents and young adults.
-
Provide a more diverse, structured and therapeutic environment to the youth experiencing complex emotional, psychological and behavioral challenges through intensive wraparound services.
-
Stabilize the youth through CLAUDIA HOUSE’s vision which consists of the balance of mind-body-spirit strategies and activities/skills.
-
Provide the youth experiencing trauma with personalities and psychological self-reports that unleash their dreams and reinforce their positive outlook on life.
-
Develop necessary support to allow the youth to maintain or develop a permanent family connection or to reside in an otherwise permanent family resource. This will allow youth to return to a less restrictive placement and to become successful adults.
-
Match the youth with at least a professional or personal mentor for life or as long as youth desire.
-
Familiarize the youth with personality and learning assessments to ensure that their behavioral, academic and professional growth is tailored to their specific needs.
-
Ensure youth have multiple opportunities for volunteering in the local communities to expand their capacity to learn from societal challenges and the benefits of the youth contribution on their own lives.
